Is cone snail venom a new miracle painkiller? Most people weren't even aware that snails had venom, and it seems kind of strange that the venom would have an effect that reduces pain, but new research shows that medicines derived from cone snail venom may produce a painkiller that is less addictive than morphine, codeine, and other drugs, and can be delivered in smaller doses.
